I am looking forward to this weekend...I have a witchy "TO DO" list.
I was finally able to pick up Raven SilverWolf's "To Ride A Silver Broomstick" and some of her other books from the half price book store...and I am eager to get to reading them...I am also working on several other books this weekend, staying away from my beloved Roslind Miles for the moment.
I think that if I apply myself, and use the other web site to help me, I will become more active in my Craft. I get discouraged whenever I go to certain other places because I don't feel connections there when I need some help or have questions...sad really.
Anyhoo, today is the day my sister graduates from college...I am so proud of her. Magna Cum Laude. That is amazing for us here....
I remember holding her when she was three days old!! Now my girl is graduating and moving on to get her Ph.D!!
My baby sister was a saving grace for my family since the day she was born....remember when I spoke of my stepsister dying? Well, MEL was a year old when that happened, and if it weren't for her, I think I would have ended up completely screwed up....MEL made me laugh (MEL is her initials, and she uses them more often than her name lol), she made me think about how precious life really is...
My grandfather passed on nine days before MEL's first birthday, and after the funeral and all the sadness, it was time to celebrate, although many of us weren't in the mood for it, we soon forgot our sadness because Grandpa couldn't be there....MEL's big blue eyes, white/blonde hair, and chubby cheeks (with one lone dimple) and hands filled with birthday cake, and smiling, laughing little self soon had us all in a joyous mood....her wonder at all that attention placed on her was fun to watch.
As Mary began to grow and learn, she healed the pain of our family....we all did what we could to make her laugh because her's is the most infectious laugh in the family.
They say that it takes a village to raise a family in these times, and I believe they are right. MEL had older sisters to teach her to dance to Guns N' Roses, brother's who taught her how to be a Tomboy, and parents that made sure she got a great education...she had a grandmother and aunt who taught her things as well.
I am glad for the gift of my youngest sister, she gave our family the opportunity to heal when we lost those we loved, and she is a constant source of pride and love for us all....I am so grateful that she has been in my life, even though I didn't want her there when my mom accidentally concieved her....the first time I held her at 16, she stole my sisterly heart forever...I wonder how many other lifetimes she's done that to me in...lol
She certainly made it easy for me to open myself up and embrace new "sisters" all over the world!!
I won't be able to get on here tomorrow, but I want to leave something for all mothers...I know that in the UK, their day was a month or so ago, and I am sad that I missed it, but hopefully today, I am not missing anybody! There should be a universal Mother's Day...lol
So....
Love you all!!
Raven

Magna Cum Laude is pretty impressive. I think it's really great that you and your sister are so close.
